As a form on this earth we are each a reflection of the universe. Since the creation of the universe there has always been and will always be the same elements present in each form and being no matter how far evolved. As a form present on this earth there are universal laws that govern all forms of which no form can escape.
As every other being... bacteria, worm, fly, horse, etc. we as humans fulfill this reflection as well. Unfortunately since birth our minds lose sight of this oneness and connection and this becomes hard to grasp. However, it is always within and the universe is waiting to shine through each of us. Those who work to cultivate this awareness of oneness can be detected through the beauty, divinity and truth shed from their beings as the universe is able to shine through purely.
While taking a early morning trek to Yamunotri Temple these thoughts were forming and with that this analogy:
A being who Sees this truth, this universal oneness stands in a calm body of water. The stillness of the beings feet invite the stillness of the mind, both allowing for the water to become calm, the mind to become clear. Soon enough with this stillness and clarity, the being is with the true reflection shown within the water. Soon enough the being can detect each stone, each tiny tadpole and floating leaf. The being can clearly see the stance and characteristics of each of the feet as well as the face staring back. However this being does not make distinctions between each of these forms for they only See the everlasting elements and energy of the universe.... the oneness and nonduality of all things.
The sun soon peaks out of the clouds above and is greatly reflected into the eyes of the being. In equinimity with what arises and passes the being closes their eyes. Still there is no disturbance in the beings mind as the darkness shown through closed eyes shows the same universe as with opened eyes. This emptiness and space reflected through closed eyes makes up all forms and the universe itself.
A passerby notices this calm, peaceful being staring clearly into the water. Interested in what the being is seeing the passerby steps into the water to join the being.
With the movement of the passerby mini waves reach the gaze of the being and again without any disturbance the same clarity is Seen. The beings feet remains still, the mind calm.
The passerby however cannot see anything but the mini waves created by their moving feet, becoming distracted and irritated. Now still, the passerby leans close to the being to get a direct glance at what has such long lasting beauty to look at for such time. However all the passerby sees is the reflection of the two different faces and many different pebbles surrounding the feet.
The being continues to stand in stillness as the new face appears in the reflection. Still what is Seen is the elements and energy of the universe being reflected back.
Slowly moving away from the being starring into the water, the passerby finds a rock at the edge of the bank. The passerby feels a sense of inner and outer realization simply from the presence of this being.
The spark is lite, the path is waiting
