Learning to be

This journey isn't about trying to go somewhere.
It's about learning to be somewhere.

This life journey, this 'cycle journey ', this days journey ... it's not even about the journey.

The terms journey, travel, trip, etc. Are misleading because there is really  no where to go.

The only real purpose is to cultivate presence in the now. Where ever we are, whatever we are doing, our purpose in life is to be here and only here.

Moving forward, making progress, building up our lives and attaching to the impermanent is all just an illusion.

There really is nothing but now. When we quiet the mind of all words, labels, dualities, expectations the true emptiness and space which we all are becomes apparent.  There is no difference between within and without.
What we are, where we are, what we do, nothing really matters.
Rather than this understanding of emptiness bringing grief it can bring a sense of freedom and inner peace if we allow ourselves to be one with it.

We are often asked about where we have been in India, which cities we have seen, what we have done...
Responding to these questions we often feel a sense of detachment from the responses and disconnected from the conversation.
Where we have been, where we are going, this isn't the point. Cycling isn't the point. Consuming places, experiences, checking things off the list isn't the point.

The only point is this exact moment. The moment being missed/muffled by the feeling of a need to fill the space with small talk. This wondrous empty space is where the true point resides.
It's there always, within and without. It brings light to that nothing matters but that we are.

It's not about cycling through India, reaching the next town, the next mountain pass, adding to the map, and inflating the ego.

It's really only about learning to be.
